Welcome to 'Version 2.0' of the Deviants Dictionary, a project that aims eventually to provide a comprehensive and interactive on-line encyclopaedic dictionary of BDSM-related terms, an 'encyclopervia' of the Net. The terms are simply arranged in alphabetical order and the entries include a brief definiton, supplemented by more detailed information, practical and safety discussions, links to other sites of interest and sometimes even illustrations, anecdotes and personal experiences. It's intended to be fun as well as informative and responsible.
If you used the previous version, this one will look familiar too, but there are lots of small improvements which together make it more attractive, more logical and easier to navigate. The content has been considerably expanded, with most of our first batch of keywords now defined, and lots more factsheets, briefings and sourcesheets.
While we have tried to ensure the advice on particular activities given in the dictionary is sensible and responsible, it is given for information only. The advice presupposes participants in good health who take a responsible, sensitive, caring and patient approach to what they are doing. It is not our intention to encourage anyone to undertake particular activities, some of which may be potentially dangerous and/or break local regulations and laws, and we cannot take responsibility for any consequences.
If you download this site or act on any of the information contained within it you do so at your own risk.
Navigating the dictionary is simple, especially if your browser supports frames. If you can't or don't want to use frames, you can directly view both the index and the entries. Help is also available.
Contributions are welcomed, either to supplement or contradict what's already written or to fill in any gaps. For more information see Notes for Contributors in the Help File.
Links are warmly welcomed. Please link only to this page so that users are registered on the hit counter and have the opportunity to read the warning and instructions and choose frame or non-frame format -- do not link direct to the dictionary entries. Since we reserve the right to change the file structure of the dictionary at any time, this will also help ensure your links do not fall out of date. Let us know of any links so we can check out your pages with a view to reciprocating.
