Welcome to the HTML tutorial

Welcome to the tutorial. I hope you find these pages useful; if you have comments, I'd be happy to hear from you.

An important note

These pages are based on a feature that I wrote for Personal Computer World, published in late 1995. The work is copyright, and you should not download it or distribute it. It is reproduced on the World Wide Web with permission. Please feel free to link to this page, using the URL http://public.diversity.org.uk/webtutorial/

Finding your way around

If your browser supports frames, there is a special version of the tutorial that you may find easier to read. If you're not sure, follow the link to find out.

There are lots of graphical examples in this tutorial, so please make sure that your browser is loading images. All the images have alternate text, but you will be able to see what's happening much more easily if you follow the walkthroughs.

You can work your way through the tutorial using the buttons below, or skip to the table of contents at the bottom of this page

At certain points in the tutorial, the logo at the top of this page will appear below the buttons. When it does, you can click on it to return to this screen.
